PSAC/UCTE members at Vancouver airport have reached a tentative agreement with their employer, Globe Ground. The local has posted ratification meeting times.

Last year, the PSAC along with other unions at the National Joint Council negotiated some improvements to the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP). An agreement was reached between the NJC unions, Treasury Board and other employer representatives to help bring the PSHCP in line with other similar health care plans. The employer has now come back to the table and is asking for two major concessions in return for implementing the deal that they had already agreed to.

As bargaining between PSAC/UCTE Local 20221 (members working directly for YVR) and the Airport Authority ramps up, the bargaining team has prepared a series of issue papers designed to inform members around key issues at the table. Here's  Issue Paper #5 - Contracting Out

Union Proposal:

A tentative agreement was reached June 27th, 2013, between the PSAC and Purolator Inc. The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by both parties. The PSAC bargaining team strongly recommends voting yes for this new agreement. Please take the time to come out and vote.

Please look at the table below for the date time and place of the ratification meeting nearest you.

Alternation allows people who have been declared “opting” as a result of Work Force Adjustment to switch places (or alternate with) another employee who is willing to leave the public service.

In June 2012, PSAC filed a policy grievance because we had received reports that some departments and managers weren’t participating in the alternation process or were denying alternations without good reasons.
