Ottawa, ON (September 20, 2013). The Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) is stupefied that Canada is rejecting calls from the UN Human Rights Council for Canada to develop a comprehensive national review to end violence against Aboriginal women.
The NWAC has called on the Government of Canada for several years now to conduct a National Public Inquiry; over these years, thousands of Canadians and organizations have responded in support of the necessity to document and resolve the situation of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls in Canada.
