PSAC negotiates wages and working conditions for employees in almost 150 Locals and in hundreds of workplaces in our region. See below for national and regional updates.

Specific regional bargaining updates

We know it has been some time since bargaining commenced last October and first, we’d like to thank you for your support of the team and your continued vote of confidence. We can report we finally made some progress at our last session and some items have been resolved to the satisfaction of the Union bargaining team. Although we cannot yet provide the detailed language for your review and approval until a tentative agreement is reached; we can report after seven days of face to face meetings we have resolved the following:

Just two weeks after our April session, our bargaining team met with the employer again in Ottawa from May 8 to 10, 2018, to continue bargaining.

Federal firefighters in B.C. now enjoy the same coverage as municipal counterparts The Public Service Alliance of Canada is pleased to see that the B.C. government recently passed Bill 9, which contains changes to the provincial Workers Compensation Act that adds federally employed firefighters to the list of eligible occupations that are covered by presumptive cancer language.

As a PSAC member working for the Treasury Board - FB Group, you will be voting on a tentative agreement with your employer between April 16 and May 31, 2018.

PSAC is holding in-person and on-line webinar meetings for Parks members in B.C. All of the latest Parks bargaining and ratification information, including the tenatative agreement, can be found at the national website. As per Regulation 15 of the PSAC Constitution, all members must attend a meeting – either by webinar or in-person – in order to cast a vote. UPDATE - we have added two more webinars

Our bargaining team traveled to Vancouver for a one-day meeting with the arbitrator and the employer to go over our arbitration submissions. The meeting was requested by IMP, but they largely repeated what had already been said in their written arguments. We continued to push for improvements on our main issues:
