Negotiations with CRA continue

This week our bargaining team met with the Agency to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement.

Over the course of the four days, the parties engaged in exploratory talks on the key outstanding issues such as duration, wages, severance pay, hours of work and job security.

No agreement was reached, but in the spirit of good faith negotiations, the parties agreed to return to the bargaining table the first week of February. 

We'll be sure to provide updates as things progress.

Vancouver - The British Columbia Federation of Labour and the Public Service Alliance of Canada are sponsoring a candlelight vigil at Holland Park in Surrey on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.
This year, December 6th marks the 25th anniversary of the murder of 14 women at the École Polytechnique in Montreal.

Victoria - The Public Service Alliance of Canada Victoria Regional Women’s Committee is sponsoring a candlelight vigil at Holland Park in Victoria on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.

This year, December 6th marks the 25th anniversary of the murder of 14 women at the École Polytechnique in Montreal.  The Public Service Alliance of Canada Victoria Regional Women’s Committee and the City of Victoria will unveil a permanent memorial to their memory.

CRA bargaining: Public Interest Commission (PIC) releases recommendations

On November 26, 2014, the PSAC received the Public Interest Commission (PIC) recommendations concerning our contract dispute with CRA.

The PIC recommendations are non-binding. It is intended to guide the parties in negotiations and help provide an avenue for the parties to make progress towards an agreement. A copy of the PIC recommendations can be found below.

(Ottawa) Domestic violence is following people to work, has a significant impact on performance, and is in some cases resulting in job loss, according to survey results released by the labour movement and Western University today.
